Laurasia: Laurasia was a prehistoric continent that existed about 300 to 200 million years ago. It included North America & Asia. It invokes a time long ago, when the world was a better place. It is said that conservatives look backward to a time long ago when things were better than today. I always liked paleontology. Some people insist I am a conservative. I am more centrist or libertarian.
Gleaner: My ex-wife was from Jamaica West Indies and often read the Jamaican Weekly Gleaner. My use of "gleaner" is in remembrance of her. A "gleaner" is a field worker who follows the harvesters and picks up the grain they missed. I do not see myself as a original news harvester, but rather as a news gleaner who picks up items of interest the harvesters have missed.
